ADVANCED LENS OPTIONS

Understanding Advanced Lens Costs

Standard cataract surgery and a standard monofocal lens are fully covered by MSP. Patients choosing advanced technology lenses should understand there are two separate costs.

REFRACTIVE SERVICES

Performed at Vancouver Ophthalmology
These services include advanced measurements, corneal mapping and astigmatism analysis. These services help maximize the precision of your surgical outcome.

ADVANCED LENS

Paid directly to the hospital
The lens itself is a separate cost paid directly to the hospital on the day of surgery. The cost of the intraocular lens will be discussed with you at your measurement appointment.

BEHIND THE PROCEDURE

What Goes Into Advanced Cataract Care

Advanced cataract lenses can provide a greater range of vision and reduce dependence on glasses after surgery. These options may involve additional testing, measurements, surgical planning and specialized technology beyond what is required for a standard cataract procedure.

The right lens depends on your eyes, your visual needs and your lifestyle. Learn more about the available lens options and what may be appropriate for you.

INDIVIDUALIZED RECOMMENDATIONS

The Right Lens for Your Eyes

The team at Vancouver Opthalmology will discuss these options after your eye measurements and recommend only lenses appropriate for your individual eyes.
